Le Coultre / Vacheron Constantin, Switzerland, "Galaxy" wristwatch with mystery dial, 17 jewels calibre K480/CW, manual winding rhodium plated movement with cotes de Genève decoration and lever escapement, in a 14 karat, white gold case with presentation on back, "To Mike with love on your 50th birthday Sylvia and Allan 1-4-59", and also marked "Vacheron V Constantin - LeCoultre Watches, Inc.", the silvered mystery dial also marked LeCoultre and with diamond set baton markers, serial #1345115, 33mm, 29.5g TW, c1950, with later black alligator grain strap and buckle.
CONDITION:
CASE: Minor scratches; Minor marring from case knife; Precious metal content marked; Diamonds tested. DIAL: Scattered spotting, minor marks at edge from bezel; Specks of dirt / dust. HANDS: Discs indicating hours and minutes with minor dirt. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; A few screws with minor marring to slots. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). A very nice example overall which could be improved with minor work.
